Khidmat Centres’ body stage protest, demand permanent job policy

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Khidmat Centres association on Tuesday held a protest here in Srinagar demanding permanent job policy in J&K Bank.
Scores of protesters from various districts of Kashmir assembled here in Press Enclave and chanting slogans “we want justice” and “frame permanent job police for us”.
The protesting said that we Khidmat Centres of J&K bank are qualified youths who are being continuously exploited by the bank from last 10 years.
“We have approached J&K bank and government from time to time for the last ten years, but nothing have been done for us,” protestors said.
They said that we protested many times in the past, and when Jammu and Kashmir was declared union territory, we felt that our issues will be solved.
President of the Khidmat Centres association Tehseen Hussain said that on 9th November 2018 and 13th May 2019 we held meeting with the chairman of J&K bank.
“It was promised to us that the bank would find a way out and the bank has no objection at all in absorbing all the Khidmat Centres as its regular employees provided there is no objection from the government side,” he said.
“After chairman of J&K bank have been removed by the government, we were waiting that our demand will be fulfilled,” he said.
The protesting Khidmat Centres owners said that they are waiting for concrete assurances from the government regarding the permanent jobs in J&K Bank.
