PAMPORE: People on Monday carried protest rally from the main town to Tehsil office Pampore against frequent breakdown in 6.3 MVA transformer at PDD’s Pampore receiving station.
The rally was jointly carried out by Civil Society Pampore, Auqaf Committee Pampore , Falah Behbood committee, traders and other prominent resident groups.
Latter, the representatives met with Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Shabir Ahmad Raina at Tehsil office , who was there along with Executive Engineer STD Pulwama, AEE PDD Pampore, AEE maintance, AE STD, SHO Pampore and other officials of civil and police administration.
The representatives demanded an inquiry into frequent damages to 6.3 MVA transformer which suffered damages thrice in last 50 days.
They also demanded to probe negligence of STD staff and urged the authorities for transfer of incompetent staff.
They also urged authorities for supplying electricity as per schedule and in getting a damaged transformer of 6.3 MVA capacity repaired , which is undegoing repairs at Baramulla.
ADC Awantipora Shabir Ahmad Raina told Kashmir Reader that he held a detailed meeting with the representatives of the Pampore town and listened to their grievances.
