Snowfall Aftermath: Baramulla, Kupwara villages still cut-off

BARAMULLA: Several villages in Baramulla and Kupwara district are still cut-off due to recent snowfall with dearth of essentials also being witnessed in many areas
In Baramulla – Maidadanan, Chotali, Banali, Dudran, Brandub, Lalpora, Zandpal are cut-off as the roads are yet to be cleared.
While in Kupwara many areas of Lolab, Kandi, Nachil, Keran, Nowgam are still waiting for the snow clearance.
Locals of these areas say that they have apprised the officials who pass the buck on other departments with respect to snow clearance.
Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner Baramulla GN Itoo told Kashmir Reader that he has issued an order to all the revenue officials to personally report the clearance of snow on the roads in the district besides check market on the availability of essentials.
“I have sought daily report on the snow clearance on roads connecting different far flung areas, beside availably of essential supplies,” he said, adding that we hope to achieve the desired results on restoring connectivity soon.
