PDP expels leaders

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday expelled six leaders from the basic membership of the party soon after meeting the foreign diplomats.
“PDP expels leaders for going against the will of the people,” the party said in a statement posted on its official Twitter handle.
A PDP handout issues said that the party disciplinary committee has recommended for expulsion of the leaders from basic membership of the party. They include Dilawar Mir, Rafi Mir, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Choudhary Qamar Hussain, Raja Manzoor, Abdul Majid Paddar, Noor Muhammad Sheikh, Javaid Beigh and Abdul Rahim Rather.
“In view of the development post August 5 and the unilateral move of the government of India which has violated the will and hurt the sentiments of people, it has come to attention of the party that certain party leaders have been part of the parleys which go against the interests of the state, official position and core beliefs of the party,” the release said.
A few days ago, the leaders led by former PDP minister Altaf Bukhari met LG GC Murmu at Jammu and presented a list of demands.
