KEA voices concern over erratic power supply across Valley

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) has expressed concern over the power crises in Kashmir Valley and accused the Power department of deliberately creating power crises
leading to further deterioration of the business.
Vice chairman of KEA Ajaz Shahdhar in a statement issued on Saturday said that at a time when each and every sector of business fraternity is struggling to restore their
activities, the poor and erratic power supply is actually sabotaging such efforts.
“The people of entire valley are experiencing inconvenience while facing harsh winter conditions,” he said.
He added that the valley is witnessing worst ever power crises this winter with electricity remaining off for most part of the day while low voltage is also a cause of
concern.
“Unless power supply is improved the tourism activities like hotels, industries and shops can’t operate,” he said.
Accusing the PDD of wasting time in issuing curtailment programmes, he said no such roaster was being followed and that it was the responsibility of the regulatory commission
to keep track of this “mischief” by PDD.
