LG , Advisor Sharma extend New Year greetings to people

JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu and Advisor K.K Sharma Tuesday have extended warm greetings to the people on the eve of New Year.
In his message, the Lt Governor said that the New Year is a perfect occasion to resolve and direct our best efforts to work collectively to usher in a new era of development and build a brighter tomorrow for the coming generations.
“Let us all rejoice and celebrate this occasion to mark the spirit of communal harmony and brotherhood of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and be a torch-bearers of peace and prosperity”, he said.
He wished the people a bright and happy New Year and prayed that the year 2020 would bring sustained peace and normalcy which would promote progress, prosperity and well-being of all sections of the society.
The Advisor hoped that the New Year would usher peace and prosperity in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir besides also ensuring the sustenance of peaceful environs. He said that the people should also contribute their bit in ensuring the successful implementation of the various initiatives and programmes undertaken by the government for their welfare and overall development.
He also asked the officers and officials of various executing agencies to synergise their activities for ensuring time bound implementation and completion of various schemes so that people get benefited from these. He also exuded the hope that they would also work in tandem with the higher bureaucracy so that the developmental initiatives and welfare programmes are speeded up.
Sharma also said that the necessary action would also be initiated against those who are not discharging their duties effectively and also contributing to the delay in execution of various projects meant for public welfare especially in the Engineering sectors. “We have to pool our energies and intellect to ensure timely completion of projects meant for public welfare”, the advisor said.
