Cluster University yet to fill non-teaching vacancies a year after inviting applications

Srinagar: The Cluster University, Srinagar has failed to fill non-teaching posts for which applications were invited almost a year ago.
The varsity had invited applications for the posts comprising head assistant, senior assistant, junior assistant, junior librarian, library assistant and lab assistant among others in February this year.
Ten months down the line, the university has shortlisted candidates who are not eligible for the posts.
A notice issued by Registrar CUS said 274 applicants were found either “not eligible” for the respective posts or had not attached required qualification certificates with their application forms.
The applicants fail to come to terms about the time taken by the varsity to carry out the exercise for filling the posts.
Registrar CUS, Prof Abdul Hamid Sheikh told Kashmir Reader that the lockdown in Kashmir against the abrogation of Article 370 had disrupted the recruitment process even as they were screening the application forms.
He said that the written test for the non-teaching posts would be conducted within a month and that the final selection list will be out by February.
Prof Sheikh said that selection process for some posts would be framed exclusively based on written examination.
