JKFA members quit association over ‘undemocratic functioning’

SRINAGAR: Several members of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) have resigned from their membership citing its “undemocratic functioning” as the
main reason and said least efforts are being put forth by the association for the betterment of game.
Executive member of JKFA, Asif Maqbool- who also resigned – told Kashmir Reader that the association was taking decisions on its own and not following the
set procedures while taking them.
He said that he himself was not involved in the decision -making process like many other members that hampered the overall functioning of association.
“The association had to take decisions involving most of the members,” he added.
The vice president of the Jammu district for the association too has resigned.
There have been seven resignations so far and sources told Kashmir Reader that many more are opting out.
Meanwhile, JKFA spokesperson Fayaz Ahmad Sofi said that they have come to know about these resignations through media.
“We are yet to receive any resignation, and those who have opted out included six nominated members, while lone member is an elected member of the
association,” he said.
