SRINAGAR: The State Administrative Council (SAC) Saturday accorded sanction to the creation of 16 (sixteen) posts of Professors and Associate Professors in different specialties in Government
Medical College (GMC) Jammu and Government Medical College, (GMC) Srinagar.
The posts include one post of Professor each in the disciplines of Pediatrics, Radio-Diagnosis, Pharmacology and Cardiology, one post of Associate Professor each in the disciplines of General
Surgery and General Medicine and two posts of Associate Professor Obstetrics and Gynecology in GMC, Jammu.
In GMC, Srinagar, the posts created include one post of Professor each in the disciplines of Psychiatric Disease, Surgery, ENT, Anatomy, Pediatrics, Radiation Oncology and Orthopedics and one post
of Associate Professor in the discipline of Radio Diagnosis & Imaging.
The creation of these posts will help GMC Jammu and GMC Srinagar to tackle increasing patient load and to meet the new challenges being faced in the health care delivery system.
The creation of these posts will also help these institutions to apply for enhancement of Post -Graduate seats in the year 2019-20 to Medical Council of India, an official statement issued here
said. The creations are correlated with the increase in 20-25 postgraduate seats, expected to be enhanced in the existing pool of sanctioned PG seats by the MCI for each Medical College.
