Transgenders to figure separately in Census-2021

SRINAGAR: The transgender community of India will figure separately in Census-2021 that is held by the office of registrar general and census, Government of India (GoI), an official said.
The census will also include Aadhaar column so that the surveyor will keep a tab on doubling of the population.
Census includes two parts – House-listing census and Population Enumeration /Actual Enumeration.
As per the official of the census department of Kashmir, the House-listing census will be conducted for three months from April to June 2020 across India.
The Pollution Enumeration (P.E) census will be conducted from 9th to 28th February 2021. The revised round of Population Enumeration census will be conducted again from March 1-5th, 2021.
In Snow bond areas of the Jammu and Kashmir, Jarakhand and Himachel Pradesh, the Population Enumeration census will be conducted in the month of September 2020.
Sanjeev Sharama, Assistant Director of Census department of Kashmir told Kashmir Reader that this census will be conducted by mobile application. This census will also include a column for the transgender community, he said.
“This census will be conducted in Kashmir under the supervision of Director of Census department of Jammu & Kashmir,” Sharma added.
