SHOPIAN: A Government High School was set on fire by unknown persons on late Tuesday evening in south Kashmir’s Kulgam.
Official sources said that four rooms of the school’s new building in DH Pora have sustained major damages. They said that the timely intervention of locals and fire and emergency services brought control on the fire.
Locals from village said that a poster stuck on school gate warned of consquences if the school is not shut.
A local resident said that at 9 pm on Tuesday, he saw flames engulfing the school building.
“We rushed to the spot and called fire and emergency service. Till the fire was brought under control, four rooms of this school building were damaged,” he said.
