BEERWAH (BUDGAM): The unscheduled power cuts in several villages of Beerwah tehsil of district Budgam are in dark from last few weeks.
Villages in Beerwah including Chewdara, Ohangam, Mirpora,Wanhiuma and Chak have been affected due to the power cuts.
Raja Gul, a local resident of Chewdara village, said we rarely receive power supply for over four to five hours a day. “We have already approached
the officials of Power Development Department (PDD), but they did not heed to our demands,” he said.
“If we are paying the electricity fee on time, why the PDD is not providing us proper power supply,” he asked.
The locals from various villages said they did not have any knowledge about the power schedule after power cuts.
“After the JK BOSE have announced the date sheet for the 10th and 12th class, the student’s studies have been affected due to power cuts,” Dawood
Ahmad, a student said.
“Due to power cuts in the evening, I am not able to study. I don’t have any option but to buy an inverter,” he said.
Chief Engineer of PDD, Hashmat Qazi, told the Kashmir Reader that he will look into the matter and will take necessary steps.
