Srinagar: One more civilian succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura here in Srinagar, taking the death toll of civilians to four.
Official sources told said that Iqbal Bhat son of Manzoor Ahmad of Khasipora Shopian received a serious bullet wound in his abdomen in government forces action during clashes in Kachdoora.
Iqbal was immediately taken to nearby hospital where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura where he succumbed to injuries this evening.
A senior police officer confirmed the killing of fourth civilian.
With Iqbal’s killing, the death toll on Monday shot-up to 19. The dead include 12 militants, four civilians and three soldiers. While seven militants were killed at Dragad, four killed at Kachdoora and one killed at Dailgam, Anantnag.
Meanwhile, over hundreds of people suffered injuries in day-long clashes in parts of south Kashmir. (GNS)
