Srinagar: Clashes broke out in Soura area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday after troops arrested some youth during nocturnal raids, witnesses said.
They said that clashes erupted between youth and government forces in Soura area of Srinagar on Saturday against the arrests of local youth during nocturnal raids conducted by the forces.
According to reports, people took to streets demanding the release of arrested persons. The protestors blocked the roads and also pelted stones on the troopers stationed nearby.
Meanwhile, police while confirming the arrests said that only one youth has been arrested from Anchar area. They said that he is involved in various incidents of stone pelting and was wanted in several cases.
