Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani today offered congregational Friday prayers at the Jamia Masjid Hyderpora after eight years of house detention, sources said.
Accompanied by the newly appointed chairman of Tehreek-e-hurriyat Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai and other activists, the octogenarian leader offered prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid, local sources said.
Pertinently, Geelani has been under house confinement for the past eight years and since then wasn’t allowed to offer Friday prayers in the masjid.
