Gang of burglars busted in north Kashmir’s Uri: Police

Baramulla: Police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang involved in burglary and thefts in various residential houses in Uri sub division of north Kashmir.

A spokesman of police said that after intensive efforts of Police team lead by Javid Ahmad, Dy.SP SDPO Uri and  Inspector Tabrez Ahmad Khan SHO Police Station Uri, a gang involved in thefts was identified and 04 cases of burglary/thefts  of Police Station Uri were solved with the arrests.

“Those arrested include the gang leader Ahmad Jan @ Jana S/O Gh. Nabi Malik R/O Garkote Uri, and his three associates Tanveer Ahmad Sofi S/O Bashir Ahmad Sofi R/O Trikanjan, Gh. Mohd Malik S/O Lal Din Malik R/O Garkote Uri and Bilal Ahmad Dar S/O Gh. Mohd Dar R/O  Margipora Pattan” police said.

“All the stolen property in four cases  of burglary and theft which include golden  jewellery, Cash, Blankets and Copper utensils were recovered from the possession of this burglary gang”, police official said.

“With the arrests FIR No. 6/2018, 8/2018, 22/2018 and 23/2017 under section 457,380 RPC  of Police Station of Uri have been solved”, the official said.

Police also said that the ‘receiver’ of this stolen property have also been arrested under section 411 RPC and the vehicle used for commission of crime has been seized.

Pertinently, all the  burglary and theft cases of Uri Sub Division have been worked out  and all the stolen  property have been recovered  in all the cases except one case for which efforts are on  to nab the culprits and recover stolen property.
