‘Banks extend Credit of Rs 289.51 Cr under Annual Credit Plan’

Ganderbal: Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Nazir Ahmad Baba chaired District Level Review Committee (DLRC) cum District Consultative Committee meeting here at Mini-secretariat on Monday.

The ADDC stressed on close coordination between the banks and line departments for achieving the targets under Annual Credit Plan. He also asked the banks to improve CD ratio in a time-bound manner and advised the banks to raise awareness among the people about various loan products of banks for critical sectors including Education, Housing, Handicrafts and MSMEs.

Lead District Manager Ganderbal informed the meeting of the achievements made against the targets under District Credit Plan 2017-18. 

As on December 31, the banks have disbursed loans amounting to Rs 289.51 crore to 13136 units under Annual Credit Plan 2017-18 against the target of Rs 587.63 crore thereby registering a 49 percent achievement, the meeting was briefed.

Out of the total credit outlay of Rs 289.51 crore by Banks, loans worth Rs 144.04 crore comprising 7903 units have been disbursed to priority sector and Rs 145.46 crore comprising 5233 units in favour of the non-priority sector.

During the meeting, the ADDC emphasized upon the need for 100 percent coverage of farmers under KCC, opening of PMJDY accounts and Aadhaar and mobile seeding. The banks were also advised to do their best to provide needful credit to all the sectors with a focus on poor and backwards segments of the society.

The meeting was attended by LBO RBI, DDM NABARD and District Coordinators of banks operating in the district, besides District Officers, heads of all the line departments and other concerned.
