Jammu: Secretary Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah Friday said that in order to strengthen the basic infrastructure and make District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) fully operational in the State, One Crore for each DIET will be released.
Shah also held Video Conference held in Civil Secretariat Jammu with all the Chief Education Officers and nominated Head of the Institutions of Kashmir Division.
He said that the basic infrastructure in all DIETs shall be strengthened and as per the directions from Minister for Education, Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari the basic infrastructure in all the schools of the State is being developed.
During the Video Conference Secretary Education directed all the Chief Education Officers of the Kashmir Division to keep three days for the inspection of the schools and make sure a close contact with all the Head of the Institutions.
He said that Education and Medicine are the two fields where there is no scope for any lapse, negligence or ignorance, besides there is a need of immediate action in these fields. In this regard he directed all the Chief Education Officers to perform their duties with more dedication and seriousness.
From Kashmir Division, Director School Education Kashmir Dr, G.N. Itooalong with other officers and the head of Institutions of renowned schools of Srinagar briefed Secretary Education about the overall Education scenario of the Division. He assured Secretary Education that biometric attendance system shall be installed in all the Higher Secondary Schools of the Kashmir Division at the earliest.
In the video conference Secretary Education also took review of the functioning of Education Department in Leh and Kargil and other far flung areas like Keran, Machil, Tanghdar, Wadwan, Dachan, Paddar, Gurez, Tulail and other area. He directed concerned CEOs to take necessary steps to make all the Educational facilities available in these areas and also take the help of the Civil Administration if needed.
Secretary Education said that if any teacher from the Department is found in private tuition centres during working hours, strict action shall be taken against him/her. He directed all the concerned officers to expedite the process of disposing off pending SRO 43 cases.
He said that there should be no negligence in payment of salaries to the teachers. Secretary also took a review of the construction works going on under RMSA, SSA and other schemes. He directed Chief Education Officer Kulgam to personally monitor the construction works of schools in the District.
Video Conference was also attended by Additional Secretary Masratul Islam, Additional Secretary Ali Afsar Khan, Deputy Secretary Muhammad Akbar Bhat and many other officers.
