Handwara: An Army man Wednesday shot himself dead with his service rifle while on duty in Langate area of Handwara in border district of Kupwara, a senior police official said.
“Birender Sinha (24) of 30RR shot himself dead with his service rifle at around 06.45 hours on Wednesday. He was on duty at HQ Langate. One bullet had pierced his head “, the official said.
Senior police officers, including SHO Langate John Mohammad rushed to the spot and an investigation is underway, SHO said.
