Protest in Srinagar against bloodshed in Syria’s E.Ghouta

Srinagar: A protest against the ongoing Syrian government offensive in the Damascus suburb of Eastern Ghouta was held in Press Enclave Srinagar on Tuesday. The protest was organized by the Global Islamic Research Forum- a body of Muslim Scholars.

Condemning the ongoing Syrian airstrikes in Ghouta, scores of protesters holding pictures of victims of the air strikes demanded an immediate end to the bloodbath.

Pertinently, more than 500 civilians have been killed in the blitz by the Syrian regime led by President Bashar al-Assad in the rebel-held enclave near Damascus.

Regime supporter Russia has been accused of taking part in air strikes but Kremlin has denied any involvement, calling the accusations “groundless”.
