SRINAGAR: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSMEDI), Srinagar under Ministry of MSME organised a workshop on “Financial Support to MSME’s in ZED (Zero defect Zero effect) Certification at Institute of Hotel Management, Rajbagh.
The program was attended by entrepreneurs from different estates, officers of Directorate of Industries and Commerce Department, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry representatives and students interested in entrepreneurship, read an official handout.
The program was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Syed Abid Rasheed, in presence of Assistant Director MSME Saheel Alaqband.
DDC Srinagar stressed on the skill of manufacturing and entrepreneurship. He said that the skill of manufacturing indigenous products was introduced by the religious saint Shahi Hamdan (RA). Abid also asserted about being conscious of Kashmir’s identity.
In his address, Saheel deliberated upon the ZED Certification module and financial support from GoI to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and later on gave a detailed presentation on certification scheme.
He said that there is an opportunity through ZED certification for unit holders to introspect about functioning of their industrial units with regards to the production process, environmental effects and quality.
GM DIC Anantnag was also present on the occasion and explained the importance for the unit holders to stay united in order to avail maximum benefits from the government of India by giving examples of establishing common facility centres, it added.
