Sopore: Sopore Police while continuing its drive “War against Drugs”,  arrested two (02) drug peddlers and recovered 1100 gms (approx) of Charas from their possession. 

 

Acting on a specific information, a police party of Police Post Fruit Mandi Sopore headed by In-Charge Police Post Fruit Mandi SI Dr.Yasar Mehmood  laid a naka at Fruitmandi Crossing Sopore on late Saturday evening under the supervision of SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh Mehta

 

During naka checking, a vehicle (Tavera) bearing registration number JK03C- 6054 was intercepted. Two (02) persons identified as Ghulam Qadir Malik S/o. Ghulam Nabi Malik R/o. Tahab Pulwama and Gowhar Ahmad Mir S/o. Ghulam Nabi Mir R/o. Khellan Pulwama  were boarding the vehicle. On checking  1100 gms  (approx) of Charas was recovered from thier possession. Both the persons were arrested and vehicle has been seized as per law. 

 

In this regard a case FIR number 33/2018 under section 8/22 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation of the case is going on.

 

Sopore Police will continue this drive and efforts are on to save the society from the menace of drugs which is taking toll on the young generation.
