Malik pays tribute to Dr Ashaie, others

 

Srinagar: Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Saturday said that Doctor Farooq Ahmad Ashaie and others were the great sons of soil who sacrificed their lives for just cause of freedom and ‘became an immortal page of our history’.

The JKLF chairman, who is undergoing treatment at SKIMS paid tributes to Dr Ashaie, saying that he was a great soul who ‘throughout his life stood for the cause of freedom and justice’.

“He remained steadfast while fighting for the human rights of Kashmiris and as a doctor always cared for his patients,” he said as per the statement issued here, adding that the ‘brutal way’ in which he was killed still remain ‘a glaring proof of Indian oppression in Jammu Kashmir’.

He said that Kashmiri struggle for freedom is adorned with the sacred blood of martyr’s life Dr Asahi and hence no earthly power can defeat this struggle.

Meanwhile, according to the statement, a delegation of JKLF led by Deputy Organizer Siraj ud din Mir, District president Baramulla Abdul Rashid Magloo, Ghulam Qadir Khan, Abdul Qayoom and others visited Seer Sopore and participated in a congregational meeting held for martyr Abdul Gani Wani @ Sher Khan and Muhammad Akbar Najar @ Yasin Khan who were martyred in 1992.

Paying tributes to these martyrs, JKLF leaders pledged to take forward their mission at every cost. Another JKLF activist, Peer Abdul Rashid also addressed people at Budgam and paid tributes to martyrs.

Meanwhile, JKLF strongly condemned the arrest of JKLF Vice Chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt and nocturnal raid on the house of another JKLF leader Javed Zargar.

Condemning the police ‘highhandedness’, JKLF termed such acts as ‘worst state sponsored terrorism’.
