Jammu: Expressing deep anguish and concern, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said that she was “deeply disturbed” by the pre-dawn attack on army camp at Sunjwan in Jammu.
“Deeply disturbed by the militant attack in Sunjwan today. My heart goes out to the injured & their families,” Mehbooba tweeted.
Pertinently, an army officer and his daughter who were killed in the Fidayeen attack carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed militant while four other troopers were also injured in the attack.
Soon after the attack, reinforcements of the Army’s special forces and SOG rushed to the spot and cordoned off the whole area amid a fierce gunfight, security official said.
Pertinently, schools in the entire area around the camp have been closed by authorities as a precautionary measure.
A high alert has been sounded in Jammu and security beefed up in and around the city.
