3rd successful Thyroid Surgery conducted in Sopore Hospital

Sopore: A team of specialist doctors on Friday conducted the third thyroid surgery in north Kashmir’s Sopore Hospital.

Dr Farooq Dar ENT and neck surgeon said that “we admitted a 70 year old Thyroid patient Lal ud Din, resident of Armpora Sopore last night and conducted a Thyroid surgery through 200 gm of skin crease incision across the front of the neck and removed 200 gm lobe of the Thyroid which is also called Thyroid Lobectomy.”

He added that the surgery was conducted in two hours.

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Sub District Hospital Sopore, Dr Sami said that this was the third such surgery, which was conducted in the hospital.

He said that in near future such surgeries will be conducted on normal bases only if specialists will be available here.

Meanwhile, family of the patient hailed the efforts of doctors for making this surgery successful.

“We are thankful to the Sopore hospital administration for their efforts and for the quality services they provided,” the family was quoted in a statement issued by the hospital administration.
