8th National Voters day celebrated at Bla

Baramulla: The eight National Voters day was Thursday celebrated at Dak Bungalow in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A function was also organized to celebrate the 8th National Voters day in which District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Dr. Nassir Ahmad Naqash was the Chief Guest.

Scores of other district officials including Mohammad Qasim Wani, Farooq Ahmad Baba, A. G. Malik, Sameer Jan, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Tehsildar HQ, Irfan Bahadur, Khursheed Ahmad, Hakeem Ab. Aziz also attended the function.

Besides, the newly enrolled voters were also present in the function.

While calling for ensuring 100% EPIC ratio in the district, Dr. Naqash, who is also the District Election Officer stressed upon the fact that celebration of National voters day aims at spreading necessary information regarding the right to vote and its importance.

The DEO called for full proof and transparent Electoral registration in the district. It was mentioned that greater participation is necessary for a strong democracy.

During the function, Voter identity Cards were distributed among the newly registered Voters.

Moreover, various Speakers highlighted the main theme of celebrating National Voters Day. It was informed that as per the Final Roll 2018, the total number of Voters in district Baramulla is 618481. Moreover, the Additions during 2018 have been 19149, The total number of Polling stations in district Baramulla is 846.

Meanwhile, Dy. District Election officer, Sameer Jan highlighted the Motive of National Voters day during his speech.

He mentioned the fact that the right to vote is the fundamental right of a citizen above the age of 18 years.
