Three killed in road mishap in Kapran

Anantnag: There persons including a husband-wife duo, were killed in a road accident that took place in Kapran village of Verinag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The trio were travelling in a an Omni Maruti Van bearing registration number, JK03E- 1002, which skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Khadar area of Kapran village.

The couple was identified as Mohammad Din Bimla (55), son of Ahmed Din, his wife Hajra Begum (50) while the driver was identified as, Mohammad Yousuf Bimla son of Kalu Bimla (35), all residents of Ringmandoo, Kapran.

Sources said that amid heavy snowfall, the Omni Van was travelling towards Ringmandoo from Kapran during which the driver lost control due to the slippery conditions of the road and rolled down into the gorge.

The rescue operation by police and locals was on when the report was last filed.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, Ghulam Ahmad Mir expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic accident.

Mir termed the incident as ‘unfortunate’.

Stating that the loss of three precious lives is very ‘unfortunate and painful’, Mir offered deepest condolences to the families of deceased .

“I have no words to express my grief over this incident, I offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved families,” Mir said and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed souls.
