Anantnag: At least three persons died when an Omni Van they were travelling in rolled down into a gorge near Khadar area of Kapran Verinag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The deceased including the driver of the vehicle under registration No. JK03E 1002  were identified as Mohammad Yousuf Gojar S/o Kaloo Gojar aged 35, Mohammad Din Gojar S/o Ahmad Din aged 55  and Hajra Begum W/o Mohammad Din Gojar aged 50.

All the three were residents of Ringmandoo Kapran. According to sources the Omni Van was travelling towards Ringmandoo from Kapran.

The accident according to sources took place when the vehicle got out of the driver’s control due to slippery conditions after the fresh snowfall in the area.

Meanwhile, police and locals have started the rescue operations however due to continuous snowfall , the rescuers are facing immense difficulties in tracing out the bodies.

Meanwhile, Congress President Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Social Activist Advocate Farooq Ahmad Ganie,   Block President Congress Peer Shahabaz have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic accident.
