PDP-BJP causing damage to peace process, says JKPCC Chief

Srinagar: Opposition Congress on Saturday said that the ruling coalition of PDP and BJP are involved in causing damage to the peace process.
J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief G.A. Mir while addressing party workers in Srinagar said that both the parties cannot escape the responsibility of damages caused to peace process.
He said that both the parties have exploited the people for power and are jointly responsible for the restlessness and mistrust among the people.
Lashing out at the ruling dispensation, Mir urged upon the cadres to take on the alliance partners and expose them for adopting double standards for the sake of power.
“PDP is in habit of using different languages to mislead people to get benefitted politically,” he said.
Hitting out at the PDP for changing colours like chameleon for the sake of power, Mir said that the party sacrificed its ideology and joined hands with communal and fascist forces for the sake of power.
“The result is that people were feeling exploited and betrayed, besides there is a great anger among the people,” he said.
Urging Party cadres to gear up for Panchayat Polls being conducted shortly, Mir said Congress Party is committed to strengthen the democratic institutions of the state, but at the same time, he blamed the ruling dispensation for playing deceits over democratic process in the State.
“Congress Party will ensure that the authority of democratic institutions are not eroded, although the ruling dispensation has already done great damages but Congress party will continue to strengthen these institutions benefitting people at the grass roots level,” Mir said.
He said that Congress being the only unifying forces alone can defeat communal and fascist forces in the Country.
Mir said that Congress has fought against these forces to maintain secular fabric of the country and is capable enough to safeguard the diversity, unity and communal harmony in the state as well.
