Malik, other activists detained

Srinagar: Police in Srinagar detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and its Zonal organizer, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri from Maisuma area of Srinagar, a spokesman said on Saturday.
The JKLF spokesman as per the statement issued here said that Malik along with Kashmiri was arrested by Police. “Police cordoned the residence of JKLF chairman early morning today and arrested Yasin sahib and Bashir Kashmiri. Both arrested have been immediately shifted to Kothibagh police station,” the spokesman said.
Reacting to the statement made by Army Chief Bipin Rawat, Malik said, “Indian military occupation is the biggest curse from which the people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering from more than seventy years. Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat should remember that his army and forces have used every brutal means to suppress Kashmiri voices for freedom but have and will fail in defeating Kashmiri sentiments and passion for freedom because defeating peoples sentiments is not possible,” he said.
Terming the statement of Indian Army chief on Masajid and schools of Kashmir as ‘naked fascism’, Malik said that the statement accusing Masajid and schools of spreading wrong things actually demonstrates the anti-Muslim mindset of Indian army chief who despite being Indian army chief is actually acting like a RSS Parcharak.
He said that India, which claims to be the biggest democracy of the world, has curved into a ‘banana republic’ where actual control lies in the hands of armed forces.
Malik said that Army Chief is on daily basis issuing threats to Kashmiris. “Some days he comes out with a plan of killing more and more Kashmiris in the name of operation all out and sometimes he comes out with plans to control Masajid and Schools to defeat Kashmiris. We want to tell him that his army, forces, police and other agencies have tried all oppressive tactics from last seventy years including brutal killings, disappearances, arrests, torture, rampaging of localities, humiliation of youth and elders, reign of terror against unarmed civilians, intimidations and bullying but have failed to suppress Kashmiri sentiments and passion for freedom because defeating peoples sentiments is not possible for any one,” Malik said.
He said that the illogical statements of Army Chief and other Indian dignitaries on Kashmir actually imitate their lack of knowledge about Jammu Kashmir. “These statements are also a reflection of their naïveté as they are unaware of the historical fact that no nation striving for its freedom has ever been and can ever be suppressed by military might and oppressive controls,” he said.

Malik said that Army Chief and other leadership should remember that Kashmiris are fighting and rendering valuable sacrifices for a genuine cause and military suppression and control can never defeat their aspirations, will and sentiments.
JKLF chief said that “keeping thousands of young and old Kashmiris into jails and incarceration centers under black laws and concocted cases and unabated genocide of Kashmiris especially youth by Indian occupational forces under the tag of operation all out is a ploy to put Kashmiris into submission but these atrocities and oppressive tactics will also fail in defeating our will and valor.”
He said that “Indian military occupation being the biggest curse on Jammu Kashmir is responsible for the miseries of our nation and Kashmiris and that Indian army chief Bipin Rawat should remember that his army and forces have used every brutal means to suppress Kashmiri voices for freedom but have and will fail in defeating Kashmiri sentiments and passion for freedom because defeating peoples sentiments is not possible.”
