Minister felicitates Wushu players for bringing laurels to the state

 

Jammu: Minister for Information Technology Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Imran Raza Ansari, today felicitated Rajinder Singh and Bhanu Pratap Singh for bringing laurels to the state.

The duo bagged Bronze medals in the 14th World Wushu Championship, which was held at Kanzan Russia. The event was hosted by the International Wushu Federation.

The team won the medals under the guidance of National Chief Coach Kuldeep Handu. Besides, Rajinder Singh secured the Silver medal in the Asia cup, held at Guangzhou (China) under the guidance of Kuldeep Handu.

The Minister congratulated the duo for their historical victory and wished them success in their sports future. He also appreciated the efforts of the coach as proper guidance and training is necessary to hone the talent of an individual. “Our state has unparalleled sports talent among youth which needs to be recognized and encouraged,” he added.

The Minister reiterated that government is committed to promote sports culture in the state by ensuring modern sports infrastructure and providing them an appropriate platform to give necessary exposure at national and International level.
