Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu has begun his Budget 2018-19 speech in state Legislative Assembly in Jammu today.

Presenting the budget for the current fiscal year he said that Jammu and Kashmir is the first state that is presenting the budget for 2018-19 in the first half of the last quarter of the current fiscal. The central budget is taking place a month later.

“It will be the first budget that we expect will reach so many people at the same time,” he said.

“The focus of last budgets was to repair the system. Now it’s time to leverage it. We have strengthened the system & increased our spending capacity. The fruits of hard work by Finance Department will become visible after our fourth budget, to be presented shortly,”
