Srinagar: A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Chadoora village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

 

Official sources told GNS that a joint team of army, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation near Kaneera village in Chadoora.

As the joint team of forces intensified the searches, the hiding militants opened fire triggering off a gunfight.

 

A police officer while confirming the incident said that so far a militant has been killed in an ongoing operation.

He said that in another separate incident at Bungam area of Thab in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district some suspected militants boarding in a vehicle opened fire on forces party in the area.

The whole area has been cordoned off to nab the assailants, he said.

The officer said that no injury has been reported from either side so far. (GNS)
