Srinagar: Panic gripped in Tahab village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district after some gunshots were heard in the area.
Locals said that it was vehicle carrying poppy straw when a police party tried to stop it on Hospital road Tahab. However, the driver tried to flee and policemen fired some shots towards vehicle.
However, the governemnt forces believe that there were militants in the vehicle and launched a search operation in the area.
A Senior officer of Jammu Kashmir Police posted in the area said the details of the incident are being confirmed.
