Srinagar: Continuing its drive against the drug menace, Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered  1 kiligram of charas from his possession in Bandipora area of north Kashmir.

A senior police official said that on the directions of SSP Bandipora Shri Sheikh  Zulfikar Azad, police party headed by SDPO Sumbal  Shri Sheikh  Tahir  Amin and accompanied by SHO Police Station Hajin  Shri Saqib Ghani and SI Muneeb  Ul Islam laid a naka at Hajin and during checking recovered one kilogram of Charas powder from the possession of Manzoor Ahmad Dar alias Waghay son of Mohammad Maqbool Dar resident of Shahgund Hajin.

In this connection Case FIR No. 01/2018 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Hajin and investigation was taken up., the official said.
