Srinagar: Government forces fired warning shots to disperse stone pelting protesters in Pakherpora area of Budgam district of central Kashmir on Friday but there was no report of any casualty, officials said.

The clashes broke out after protesters pelted stones on the government forces who were returning from search and cordon operation conducted in some adjoining areas of Pakherpora, the scene of fierce encounter in which four militants were killed recently.

The situation in the town was tense but under control, the sources said. (Kashmir Wire)
