CM distributes appointment orders among pellet victims

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today distributed orders of appointment among a group of victims who lost their eyesight due to pellet injuries during the law and order situations in the Valley last year.

This is in continuation of her earlier measures taken for the rehabilitation of the victims of violence during the unrest of last year.

It may be recalled that on September 14 and 28 the Chief Minister had also disbursed financial assistance among two groups of such pellet victims. Besides, the Chief Minister had supervised the treatment of these victims last year as well.

Mehbooba Mufti, it may be mentioned here, has initiated a series of measures for the rehabilitation, social integration and empowerment of youth of the State. Recently the Chief Minister directed withdrawal of cases against more than four thousand youth involved in various cases of law and order nature. The step was widely hailed by all sections of society.

The government has also decided to issue a gas agency to the pellet victim Insha lone, who became the first victim of pellet horror during the 2016 unrest.

A government official called Insha’s father, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and asked him to get the papers of the gas agency issued in favour of his daughter, who lost both eyes to the pellets. “I was called by the government officials and asked me to collect the papers of gas agency which has been issued to Insha. The chief Minister had promised me that she will take care of Insha after she lost her eyes to pellets. Now, the Mehbooba led government has issued a gas agency in favour of my daughter and has asked me to collect the papers from Jammu,” he informed Kashmir Vision.
