Srinagar: Continuing its drive against drug abuse, Budgam police Tuesday arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A spokesman of Police said that acting on a specific information, Budgam police arrested a notorious drug peddler namely Muzamil Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad Bhat resident of Choon, Budgam and recovered 288 tablets of Spasmoproxyvan and 48 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from his possession. The said person is involved in drug trafficking/trade in district Budgam.
A case FIR number 270/2017 under section 8/21 NPDS ACT was registered and investigation was taken up. More arrests and recoveries are expected in coming days, the official added.
