MS Dhoni to be chief guest at CCPL -2017 finals in Kunzar Tangmarg

Srinagar: Mahendra Singh Dhoni interacted with budding cricketers of the Uri sector of the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir and offered them valuable tips about the game, reports said.

The former India test captain told the cricketers that they need to focus on fitness first and then they can move on to skills. He was earlier at the Army Public School interacting with school students.

According to the Chinar Corps twitter handle, Dhoni gave the young cricketers valuable tips for the future.

 “I have played badminton, hockey as well as football. I have benefited from it because it increased my fitness. We used to play in a huge ground where seniors also used to play and till the time they finished, we used to run, which increased our fitness,” Dhoni is seen telling in a video posted by the Chinar Corps twitter handle

Meanwhile, Dhoni will be the chief guest at the final of Chinar Cricket Premier League 2017 at Kunzer cricket stadium in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district tomorrow, army said.

In a statement, army said the final match of the tourney that saw participation of 110 teams will be played between teams of north and south Kashmir.

“The championship saw an overwhelming response this year with a total 110 teams participating in it,” it said.

“The match on Sunday assumes great significance due to the presence of former Indian Cricket team Captain and current player Lt Col M.S. Dhoni at the venue as Chief Guest,” said the statement.

“The event will provide the youth of Kashmir a great opportunity to interact with the cricketing legend and derive inspiration to make it big in this sport for themselves.”
