Another swine flu death reported at SKIMS

Srinagar: Another death caused by Swine Flu has been reported in the Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences on Saturday, hospital sources said.

They said that a 72-year-old female patient has died due to H1N1 flu in Kashmir Valley, this season, taking the toll to 8, an officials said.

He said a total of 45 cases have been reported among which 8 persons died due to acute infection.

Meanwhile, SKIMS in its daily bulletin on swine flu update added that 23 patients have already been discharged while 14 persons suffering from the flu are being treated at the hospital.

“Swine flu isn’t as scary as it seemed a few years ago, it’s still important to protect yourself from getting it. Like seasonal flu, it can cause more serious health problems for some people. The best bet is to get a flu vaccine, or flu shot, every year. Swine flu is one of the viruses included in the vaccine,” he said.
