Srinagar: After government forces arrested a militant of the Hizbul Mujahideen from Qazigund Kulgam area of South Kashmir, Police claimed to have arrested another militant from the yesterday’s encounter site.

Police said that another Hizb militant who was injured during yesterday encounter was arrested at Kund Qazigund. The militant was identified as Aaqib Ahmad, a resident of Rangath Noorabad.

According to the sources, Ahmad had slipped into forests during a gunfight with forces yesterday. He was arrested in an injured condition from a health facility in the area

Earlier firing resumed in Kund area of Kulgam after forces established a contact with the militants on Wednesday afternoon. According to the sources, two more militants are believed to be trapped in the area.

Pertinently, a Hizb militant namely Shamsul Waqar was arrested along with arms including an AK-47 Rifle from Qazigund Kulgam.
