‘Most wanted’ drug peddler arrested in Handwara

HANDWARA: Continuing its drive against drug menace Handwara Police Monday apprehended the most wanted drug peddler in north Kashmir’s Handwara area.

A police spokesman said that acting on specific information police party of PS Handwara arrested Nazir Ah Shah s/o Shamsdin Shah resident of Achbal Rafiabad Sopore who supplies contraband narcotic substance ( charas) to one local dealer namely Tarik Ah Teli S/0 Gh Mohidin resident of  Shalal Handwara in main town Handwara and  contraband drug was recovered from their possession which was meant to be distributed among people of Kupwara area  particularly youth.

Consequently a case under NDPS act has been registered in Police station Handawara and further investigation has been taken up, he said.

Pertinently during the  past couple of weeks Handawara police has arrested many drug peddlers and some of them have already been booked under PSA.
