Fire damages house in Kapran village

Anantnag: A residential house was Saturday damaged in a blaze that broke out in Hengipora Kapran village of Tehsil Verinag in South Kashmiri’s Anantnag district.

Notably, this was the third fire incident that occurred in the village during tha lst eight days.

Earlier, in the first incident, three houses were gutted in a fire incident while two houses were damaged in the second incident.

Locals said that the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) department have established their unit at Dooru Shahabad, which is more than 30 km away from the village.

They said that due to the long distance, the fire brigades vehicles do not reach the spot on time to douse the fire, resulting in huge damage to the properties.

Peer Shahabad, a local resident told Kashmir vision that from a long time they have been urging the department to establish a unit in the village but unfortunately, the authorities do not pay heed to their sufferings.

“We request the department to establish an F&ES unit in Kapran so that the people here could heave a sigh of relief,” he said.
