Top Boss at JKPCC terms audio clip as ‘fabricated’

Srinagar: After Jammu and Kashmir Projects and Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Vice Chairman asked vigilance commissioner to take suo-moto cognizance of an alleged bribe case against the MD of the corporation, the top official today said that audio clip is a fabricated one.

“I have never talked like that. Some mischievous elements have fabricated all this and I don’t know who did this,” Dilip Thusu, whi is purportedly beleived to be instructing his subordinate official to collect the money and pay it to some official in the Vigilance Origination, said while talking to ‘Kashmir Vision’.

“I cannot comment beyond this on this issue,” Thusu said.

Meanwhile, JKPCC Vice Chairman, Khalid Jahangir said that he has asked the vigilance commissioner to take suo moto cognizance of the matter and bring the truth to the fore.

“The vigilance Organization (VO) should do the investigation and bring the facts to the fore,” he said.

He said that they (VO) should check the authenticity of the tape and go into the depth of the case.

“The government will do everything to eradicate corruption at all levels. We are bound to the “no corruption” policy. Anyone found involved in corruption, stern action will be taken against the person or persons,” Jahangir said.

The case of alleged corruption came to the fore when an audio clip allegedly that of the MD of JKPCC Dilip Thusu surfaced on the internet in which he was asking his sub ordinate to collect the money for the Vigilance Officers who were handling a case against the JKPCC officials.

In the audio clip, Thusu is heard telling the officer that Rs 5 lakh more would be collected in Kashmir and another 5 lakh from Jammu, to make it Rs 10 lakh. He is heard telling the officer that he has succeeded in settling the matter with a “top officer” in State Vigilance Commission through a businessman.

Notably, the VO is investigating a case in which MD of JKPCC has given a huge supply order to one of his favourites through MD SICOP.

The Government on Thursday ordered attachment of MD JKPCC, Dilip Thusu. Sources said that Naeem Ahmad, Executive Director JKPCC has been told to hold charge of MD till further orders.
