I will also try to meet Hurriyat, says Dienshwar Sharma

Srinagar: Dineshwar Sharma, newly appointed interlocutor Wednesday said he was trying to meet the Separatist leaders.

After meeting political delegations here, Sharman told reporters that he expected to meet more people in coming days. “I am also trying to meet Hurriyat leaders,” he said.

“My meetings were very good. I met many people. I wish that peace returns to Kashmir. I will also try to meet Hurriyat,” Sharma said.

Sharma is on his first visit to the valley after he was appointed as the interlocutor to start dialogue with all the “stakeholders”.

Notably, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik have already rejected talks with him. They have termed his appointment as “nothing more than a tactic to buy time” by New Delhi.
