Jammu: Workers and leaders of the Congress Monday staged a protest against the PDP-BJP combine, alleging failure of the government on all fronts.
The Congress had also extended support to a bandh call given by a traders federation on today and accused the PDP-BJP government of “total failure” in meeting expectations of the people.
“The Congress party in order to make common cause has extended its support to the bandh call on the occasion of reopening of civil secretariat here, while the party leaders and senior activists will hold a protest march from Shahidi Chowk towards the Civil Secretariat and court arrest,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Congress workers including women staged a massive protest near Shahidi Chowk. The protestors raising slogans against the government said that the coalition has betrayed the people of the state.
Pertinently, the party has also announced a protest march in the state on November 8, the first anniversary of demonetisation, as part of its nationwide programme to observe the day as “black day”.
