Srinagar: A militant has been killed in the ongoing gun battle between security forces and militants that broke out in Samboora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday night.
A police officer said that a joint team of army’s 50 RR, SOG and CRPF acting on a tip off cordoned off Samboora area of Pampore.
As such the joint team of forces intensified the searches and fired some warning shots towards the suspected spot, the militants hiding in the area opened fire triggering off an encounter.
One militant has been killed in the gun battle so far, reports said.
When reports last came in the intermittent exchange of firing was going on.
