20 injured as bus turns turtle in Sopore

Sopore: At least 20 passengers sustained injuries on Monday after a mini bus turned turtle in Noorbgha Tarzoo area of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Officials said that a mini bus bearing registration number JK05 -8540 turned turtle at Noorbagh Tarzoo area of Sopore town this evening after the driver loss the control over the vehicle, resulting in injuries to 20 passengers boarding the bus.

All the injured were rushed to SDH Sopore, they said, adding that five are critically injured and they have been shifted to SMHS Srinagar for specialized treatment.

The bus was heading towards Sumbal Bandipora from Sopore, a police official said.

he identified the injured passengers as Gulshana, daughter of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Gund Jehangir, Sumeesh non local, Mehraj ud din Yatoo, resident of Gund Jehangir, Mohammad Ashraf, resident of Naidkhai, Mohammad Akbar Dar, resident of Shah Gund, Mehraj ud din Doon, resident of Kanyani, Bashir Ahmad, resident of Kanyani, Mohammad Shabab Malla, Mehraj ud din Dar, residents of Gund Jehangir, Arif Rasheed, Nazir Ahmad Ganie, Showkat Ahmad Ganie, Abdul Rehmaan and Abdul Ahad Ganie.

The seriously injured passengers who were shifted to SMHS for specialized treatment were identified as Mohammad Akbar, Abdul Ahad Dar, Khazir Mohammad, Mehraj ud din and Abdullah Samad, the official added.
