PM Modi reaches Gurez to celebrate Diwali with soldiers

Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached at Gurez sector to celebrate Diwali with the troops of 15 Corps in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, reports said.

As per reports, Modi reached Gureez sector a short while back and was accompanied by Army Chief Bipin Rawat.

Modi will have a ‘Diwali special lunch’ with the jawans at an undisclosed Brigade level base of Indian Army near Bandipora in Gurez sector.

He is accompanied by Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat.  Modi Will return to Delhi after lunch with Jawans.

Earlier in the day, Modi took to Twitter and extended Diwali greetings to the countrymen.

Popularly known as the festival of lights, Diwali is also celebrated by Hindus in Nepal, Malaysia, Mauritius and Pakistan.

Last year PM Modi celebrated Diwali with Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
