Srinagar: Patiala House Court extends judicial custody of seven separatist leaders including businessman Zahoor Watali to 30 days, reports said.
The NIA had arrested seven separatist leaders, two alleged stone pelters and a businessman for allegedly receiving funds from Pakistan to support ‘terror activities’ in Kashmir.
On July 24, the agency had arrested seven separatist leaders in connection with its probe into terror funding from Pakistan and militant groups based there. Later, the agency had summoned businessman Zahoor Watali for questioning and was put under arrest in New Delhi for further questioning.
The seven separatist leaders include Hurriyat chief Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s son-in-law Altaf Ahmed Shah, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat’s Ayaz Akbar and Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, who is from the Mirwaiz faction of the Hurriyat, Nayeem Khan of the Jammu Kashmir National Front and Peer Saifullah, and Farooq Ahmed Dar aka Bitta Karatay.
Two alleged stone pelters include a pphotojournalistKamran Yousuf who was arrested from his home town in Pulwama by Jammu and Kashmir police and later handed over to NIA.
